  Overview

Whether you like comedies or tragedies or something in between, it’s here for you on the stages of Salt Lake City. The Pioneer Theatre Company, an equity house, performs professional classic and contemporary plays at the Pioneer Memorial Theatre on the University of Utah Campus. The seven-show season runs September through May.

If you’re into more experimental theater, head downstairs in the same building to catch a performance by Utah’s Babcock Theatre. Alternatively, the Salt Lake City Repertory Theatre’s (City Rep) fare is suitable for families. Productions include classics, musicals, comedies and concerts. The company is located at 638 South State Street.

For something new and different, take in a premiere of innovative or mainstream Broadway works performed by the Salt Lake Acting Company. They hold the distinction as the sixth largest performing arts organization in Utah.
