The Kids’ Program is especially suited to kids ages four through 10, but children of all ages are welcome, as long as one-on-one supervision is not required. The Kids Program is offered at no extra charge and consists of the following four parts daily, any of which your children are welcome to attend.
1) SHUTTLE TO ALTA DAYCARE / KIDS’ SKI SCHOOL
Daily transportation in their van for you and your children to Alta’s Albion Base at 9:15am. Sign up at the Front Desk by 8p.m. the night before to use this service. They will also pick up your children at 4:15pm if you notify them that morning. You will need to authorize the Alta Children’s Center in order for them to pick up your child without your presence.
There is also a free Alta shuttle bus that stops at both the Albion Base and the Alta Lodge; it runs every 15 minutes from 9am to 5pm. Additionally, there is an easy transfer rope tow (between the lodge and the Albion Base) for kids who can ski.
2) POST-SKIING ACTIVITIES
Every afternoon at 4:45pm there will be an organized activity. Alta offers a variety of activities, depending on weather and interest, from drawing, arts-and-crafts and board games to snow play and snow fort building. The activity is posted daily in the lobby and your kids are welcome to come and go as they please. If there is anything in particular your child would like to do, let the program know and they will surely attempt to accommodate.
3) KIDS’ DINNER
Every evening at 5:50pm, before the dining room opens for dinner, a special dinner is served with a menu tailored to kids’ tastes, such as hamburgers, grilled cheese, grilled chicken sandwiches, pizza and pasta. Place an order by 5pm daily on the sign-up sheet in the lobby, and bring your child to the dining room at 5:50p.m. The kids’ dinner is supervised and includes after-dinner entertainment, allowing you some peace and quiet for your dinner.
Your kids are welcome to eat with you in the Dining Room, but the Kids’ Menu will not be available during the main dining hours. Also note that if your children have dinner with you, they will usually miss part or all of the after-dinner activities.
4) AFTER DINNER ACTIVITIES
Alta usually shows a kids’ movie after kids’ dinner. Show time is usually around 6:45pm and the movie lasts until 8:00 - 8:30pm. If there is anything in particular that your child wishes to see, simply ask.
