Overview
Movie buffs will be in silver screen heaven at Jordon Commons with 16 movie theaters and one Super Screen Theatre to choose from. The MegaPlex 17 is located in a setting that depicts Salt Lake City’s Main Street circa 1880, yet within the movie theaters it’s all high tech. Each of the 16 theaters offers stadium seating and a virtual reality arcade.
The Super Screen Theater takes things one step further, showing daily presentations of the greatest 70mm large-format films available. The six-story tall screen and 15,000 watt digital sound system puts you right in the heart of the action.
Along with the movie theaters, there are several small restaurants on Main Street, serving a variety of foods that can be taken into the movie theaters. One larger establishment, the Mayan Restaurant, looks as though it could be a movie set. The structure looks like an ancient Mayan temple, with a South American tropical rain forest inside. Tropical storms, threatening floods and 35-foot cascading waterfalls will leave you feeling like Indiana Jones or Crocodile Dundee. Diners sit on one of four different levels or on the outdoor dining terrace, sampling a wide array of Mexican fare. Cliff divers and animated jungle creatures entertain and perform enraptured guests.
