  Overview

Snowbird is located in the heart of the Wasatch-Cache National Forest in Little Cottonwood Canyon, one mile down canyon from Alta Ski Resort.

Snowbird is 29 miles from Salt Lake City International Airport (with more than 600 daily non-stop flights from most major U.S. cities) and 25 miles from downtown Salt Lake City.

Several transportation companies offer non-stop shuttles from Salt Lake International Airport to Snowbird’s front door. Canyon Transportation, which runs anytime, comes from the Airport every 1/2 hour. Arrange through Central Reservations or call them direct at (1-800-255-1841). From Salt Lake: 255-1841
Public transportation to and from Snowbird is easily accessible. The city bus system, UTA, runs to the resort frequently throughout the day, usually ending around 5pm. Call their main number (1-801-742-2222) for information, or 'BUS-INFO' at (1-801-287-4636).

Private Shuttle: The Mountain Valley Transportation shuttle is a 24-hour private shuttle service that takes passengers to and from the airport as well as to any resort they desire. For a ride to the airport, reservations should be made at least 24 hours in advance. Passengers should have flight information ready. 24-hour service is also available to and from any of the ski resorts. For more information or to make reservations call 1-877-834-3456.
If you plan on driving to Snowbird, snow tires are required from November 1st to May 1st (with tire chains in the car). During extremely heavy snowstorms the canyon may be temporarily restricted to 4x4 or chains only.
