  Overview

Become attuned to nature at the Thanksgiving Point Institute, about a half an hour south of Salt Lake City, and a world unto itself. There are many ways to explore and experience nature, and Thanksgiving Point offers enough to pique the interest of every visitor.

Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of nature when it’s in its most spectacular bloom. A magnificent 55-acre park full of theme gardens lies at the heart of Thanksgiving Point, each with its own name and identity. The Rose Garden, Monet Garden, Italian Garden, Secret Garden, Butterfly Garden, Vista Garden, Parterre Garden, a Children’s Discovery Garden and a 80-foot man-made waterfall with an outdoor amphitheater will transport visitors into a lush, serene environment. The gardens are surrounded by an 18-hole, Johnny Miller designed championship golf course.

Enjoy the bounty of “the garden” while dining and shopping in Thanksgiving Point’s quaint garden village. The Garden Emporium is a 13,000 square foot gift shop and The Garden Wall Restaurant offers elegant dining with fresh, American cuisine.

Children will love the North American Museum of Ancient Life (opening this summer), with its Extreme Screen Iwerks Theater and exhibit area. The museum showcases some of the longest and tallest dinosaurs ever discovered. More than 50 standing dinosaurs and 100 flying reptiles are displayed.

Education is the focus at the Agricultural Center’s Animal Park and demonstration Vegetable Garden. Children can learn where food comes from and adults can learn improved methods of plant growth. Learning continues year-round in the large greenhouses and multiple classrooms.
