Overview
Despite Utah’s funny liquor laws, both visitors and locals can have some serious “fun” when it comes to enjoying the nightlife in Salt Lake City and Park City. Both cities come to life when the sun sets and the skiers finally leave the slopes. It’s just a question of deciding where to go.
Salt Lake City has more than 300 restaurants, dozens of clubs and several microbrew pubs all in locations convenient to downtown hotels. Visitors can sway to the sounds of nationally acclaimed bands at the Zephyr Club, Salt Lake City’s premier music showcase, or try neighborhood joints like Port O’ Call, Green Street and the Dead Goat Saloon. These bars offer live music, pool, big screen sports and great food for a casual, relaxing evening. Several micro-brew pubs serve up fresh, local ale, like Desert Edge, Red Rock and Brewvies. At the latter, patrons can watch movies while sipping their brew.
The locals in Park City have been well versed in the art of partying since the days when miners frequented local watering holes after 12-hour days. Today, there are more than just a few “watering holes.” Park City boasts more than 100 restaurants, over two dozen nightclubs, two micro-breweries and three state liquor stores. Not bad for a small town!
There’s something for everyone in Park City, where music ranges from reggae to rock-and-roll, or live piano to lively jazz. There are dance clubs, bars and pubs – and don’t forget those sports bars. During a major televised event, they’re the place to be!
